Check a business

Checking a business

What a check on about.biz covers, and what it does not. You run the check itself in the app with your work e-mail. Only you see the result, and nothing about the checked company becomes public.

A domain or a link to the website. You sign in with your work address; only you see the result.

What we check at once

With only the domain, without help from the company:

  • Mail servers (MX), SPF, DMARC and DNSSEC
  • HTTPS, the TLS certificate and HSTS
  • security.txt: present, with a contact address and an expiry date
  • A trust center: only the link, never the content
  • A Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), if the company has one

With a Dutch registration number

We run register checks only for signed-in business users, and only the requester sees the result:

  • The registration in the Dutch company register: active or not
  • Insolvency, in the Dutch central insolvency register
  • Sanctions lists

For a sole trader or a partnership this is personal data. We then check insolvency and sanctions only after the company has seen the privacy information.

Deliberately outside the check

  • No credit score and no ranking of companies
  • No lists of politically exposed persons, no watchlists, no media screening
  • No addresses, officers or beneficial-owner data
  • No public page of the result
